CST Services operates and maintains four solar thermal systems across George Washington University’s Washington, D.C. campus. Together, the installations include 111 collectors and nearly 4,800 square feet of solar collection area, providing renewable thermal energy for domestic hot-water production in multiple university buildings.

The portfolio ranges from smaller flat-plate collector systems to large-scale Kingspan Thermomax evacuated-tube arrays, including one of our largest campus installations with 60 collectors and more than 2,700 square feet of collection area. Each system was designed to capture solar energy at the building level, reducing conventional water-heating demand while supporting GWU’s broader energy and sustainability objectives.

CST Services provides ongoing monitoring, maintenance, performance evaluation, repairs, and lifecycle management for the solar thermal equipment. Managing all four systems as a coordinated portfolio allows us to identify operating issues, protect long-term system performance, and maximize the useful renewable energy produced across the university campus.
